Kaharau Colin 557 is a very well balanced, phenotypically correct bull, sired by Whenuapapa Crumble back to the famous old bull Turihaua Crumble Y167. He is a beautifully proportioned bull and an easy doer with a great carcase – deep and thick with great length and back line, back end, bone, strong head and jaw, tidy under, presence and outlook, a quiet temperament and walks out well.
Kaharau retained Colin as a Herd Sire in 2018.
Colin weighed 998 kg on the 22nd June, 2018.He has a balanced set of EBVs through the maternal, growth and fertility traits - +ve calving ease and moderate birth out to a strong 600D growth EBV of +124, in the top 10 % of the breed and with a generous scrotal EBV of + 2.2, Kaharau Colin 557 has got it all.
Colins’ dam Kaharau 7939 was selected as a donor dam in 2015, a wonderful old cow that has had bred so well for us having 7 natural calves and 8 ET calves. Her breeding goes back to Kaharau Clinton 752.
